| · When you click on an object or person, anything you can swap with will pulse. | |
| · Once an object is locked, look for another clue that involves that object. If there is already a locked object on the board when you start the puzzle, start by looking for clues that have that object or them. | |
| · If Count Olaf appears on the screen to cause trouble, work on another part of the puzzle until he leaves. | |
| · When you have a clue with a room in it, click on that clue and the room will highlight so that you can find it easily on the board. | |
| · On a new board, scan through your clue notebook to look for clues that give you the most info - 3-object clues, clues with rooms of the house, or clues with a large number such as 4-away or 3-away clues. | |
| · There can be more than 1 page in your clue notebook. When the arrows at the bottom turn gold, turn the page for more clues. | |
| · Click on a clue in your clue notebook and the clue highlights will stay on. To turn it off, click on the clue again. | |
