Clear cache and cookies

Internet Explorer temporarily stores (caches) Internet files on your system. Periodically emptying this folder can improve the performance of your Internet browser. To empty the Internet cache, follow these steps.

Step 1

Close all Internet Explorer browser windows.

Step 2

Click Start and then Control Panel.

If the Control Panel window is empty, click View all Control Panel Options in the left section of the window to show all the icons.

Step 3

Double-click Internet Options. You may need to click the Network and Internet Connections icon before clicking Internet Options.

Step 4

In the "Browsing history" section on the General tab, click Delete.

Step 5

In the Delete Browsing History Windows, check the following:

Preserve Favorites website data
Temporary Internet Files
Cookies

Step 6

Click Delete.

Step 7

Now, in the "Browsing history" section on the General tab, click Settings.

Step 8

Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages," click "Every time I visit the webpage."

Step 9

Click OK.

Step 10

Close Internet Options.

Step 11

Restart Internet Explorer and try again.
