“Uninstall game software”

Uninstall ActiveX software

The game software installs to the Downloadable Program Files folder and does not appear in Add/Remove Programs. If you need to uninstall this software, you will need to manually remove the files from your system by following the steps below.

(Windows 2000 and Windows XP)

Step 1

Close all browser windows. (Do not skip this step.)

Step 2

Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel. In Windows XP click Start and then Control Panel.

If the Control Panel window is empty, click View all Control Panel Options in the left section of the window to show all the icons.

Step 3

Double-click Internet Options. In Windows XP, you may need to click the Network and Internet Connections icon before clicking Internet Options.

Step 4

On the General Tab in Temporary Internet Files or Browsing History, click Settings and then View Objects.

Step 5

In the Downloaded Program Files folder, click once to highlight MSN Games - Installer.

Step 6

On the File menu, click Remove Program File. When you are prompted to confirm the removal of the program file, click Yes.

Step 7

Once you remove this object, repeat Steps 5 and 6 to remove these additional files:

MSN Games – Buddy Invite
MSN Games – Game Communicator
StagingUI Object
ZonePAChat Object

You may also need to remove additional objects:
CBankshotZoneCtrl Class (if you installed a Bankshot Billiards™ game)
Chess Object (if you installed Chess)
MSN Games - Backgammon (if you installed Backgammon)
MSN Games – Catan Online (if you installed Catan Online™)
MSN Games Hearts (if you installed Hearts)
MSN Games Texas Holdem Poker (if you installed Bicycle® Texas Hold’em)
UnoCtrl Class (if you installed UNO®)
ZPA_DMNO Object (if you installed Dominoes)
ZPA_SHVL Object (if you installed Hearts)
ZPA_WheelofFortune (if you installed Wheel of Fortune)

If you see controls that are only a series of  numbers and letters, for example {AE1C01E3-0283-11D3-9B3F-00C04F8EF466}, remove them, as they are corrupt ActiveX controls.

Step 8

Close the Download Program Files window and click OK to close Settings.

Step 9

On the General tab in the Temporary Internet Files section, click Delete Cookies and OK to delete cookies.

In Internet Explorer 7.0, click Delete in the Browsing History section first before deleting cookies.

Step 10

Click OK to close Internet Options.

(Windows Vista)

Step 1

Click Start and then Control Panel. If the Control Panel window is empty, click View all Control Panel Options in the left section of the window to show all the icons.

Step 2

On the Programs tab, click Manage Add-ons.

Step 3

Change Show to “Downloaded ActiveX Controls.”

Step 4

On the General Tab in Temporary Internet Files or Browsing History, click Settings and then View Objects.

Step 5

Locate MSN Games – Installer in the list of ActiveX controls and click to highlight it.

Step 6

Click the Delete button to remove this file.

Step 7

Once you remove this object, repeat Steps 5 and 6 to remove these additional files:

MSN Games – Buddy Invite
MSN Games – Game Communicator
StagingUI Object
ZonePAChat Object

You may also need to remove additional objects:
CBankshotZoneCtrl Class (if you installed a Bankshot Billiards™ game)
Chess Object (if you installed Chess)
MSN Games - Backgammon (if you installed Backgammon)
MSN Games – Catan Online (if you installed Catan Online™)
MSN Games Hearts (if you installed Hearts)
MSN Games Texas Holdem Poker (if you installed Bicycle® Texas Hold’em)
