How do I uninstall MSN Games game files?

 

 

 

 

Note: This solution has been written as an easy step-by-step recipe; however, some users may find the instructions too technical. If you are uncomfortable with any of the steps, we suggest asking a more technical friend or family member for assistance.

 

 

 

Before removing MSN Games files, you may want to back up your Friends list. To learn how to back up your Friends list, click:

Once you have backed up your Friends list, follow the instructions below to remove MSN Games files.

 

 

 

 

 

Uninstall Basic MSN Games files

 

 

To remove MSN Games game files, follow these steps:

 

 

 

 

 

(For Windows 98/Me)

 

 

Step 1

 

 

Close all windows open on your system.

 

 

 

Step 2

 

 

Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel. If the Control Panel window is empty, click View all Control Panel Options in the left section of the window to show all the icons.

 

 

 

Step 3

 

 

Double-click Add/Remove Programs.

 

 

 

Step 4

 

 

Click the Install/Uninstall tab.

 

 

 

Step 5

 

 

In the list of installed software, select MSN Gaming Zone.

 

 

 

Step 6

 

 

Click Add/Remove.

 

 

 

Step 7

 

 

Follow the online prompts to uninstall the software.

 

 

 

 

 

(For Windows 2000/XP)

 

 

Step 1

 

 

Close all windows open on your system.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 2

 

 

Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel. In Windows XP, just click Start and then Control Panel. If the Control Panel window is empty, click View all Control Panel Options in the left section of the window to show all the icons.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 3

 

 

Double-click Add/Remove Programs or Add or Remove Programs.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 4

 

 

Click Change or Remove Programs.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 5

 

 

In the list of installed software, select MSN Gaming Zone.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 6

 

 

Click Add/Remove or Remove.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 7

 

 

Follow the online prompts to uninstall the software.

 

 

 

 

 

Delete MSN Gaming Zone folder

 

 

After uninstalling MSN Games game files, some files may remain on your computer system. To remove these files and the MSN Gaming Zone folder, follow the steps below.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 1

 

 

Close all open windows and disconnect from the Internet.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 2

 

 

On the desktop, double-click My Computer. In Windows XP, click Start and My Computer.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 3

 

 

Double-click C:\ Drive.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 4

 

 

Double-click Program Folders. If no folders are listed in this window, click the option to show all files and folders in this window.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 5

 

 

Look for the MSN Gaming Zone folder.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 6

 

 

If you see the MSN Gaming Zone folder, you can delete it by clicking once on the folder to highlight it and then pressing the DELETE key or by selecting DELETE from the File menu.

 

 

 

 

 

Step 7

 

 

Click Yes to send this folder to the Recycle Bin.

 

 

 

 

 

Remove MSN Games Heartbeat ActiveX control

 

 

 

 

 

MSN Games Essential File installer also installs an ActiveX control that is necessary for multiplayer games on MSN Games. When uninstalling MSN Games files, you also will want to remove this file. To learn how to remove this file, click:
