“How do I chat in a game room (the room with lots of tables) or at a game table (the screen that shows the game board or cards)?”

 

 

 

 

 

 

In game rooms and at game tables, both players with MSN Games accounts and guests can view chat dialog; however, only players who are signed into MSN Games can send chat messages.

To use these chat features on MSN Games, follow the instructions below:

 

 

 

 

 

Using chat in a game room (lobby)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 1

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Click Sign in and sign into MSN Games.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 2

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Select a mode of play to begin and click a game room on the game’s main Web page.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 3

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once inside the game room locate the chat box directly under the game table list.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 4

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the top section of the chat box, you can view chat dialog and see who has recently entered or exited the room.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

·          To view messages in the chat dialog box, use the scroll bar to the right of the box

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

·          To make the chat viewing area bigger, click the maximize box in the upper right corner of the window -- that is, the box between the “_” button and the “X” button. (Only players have this option.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

·          To ignore another player’s chat dialog, locate that player in the list of players, click that player’s nickname with your right mouse button, and click [ ]Ignore. (Only players have this option.)

Directly beneath the chat dialog box, is a message box with the text [Type here to talk to others in the room]. You send messages using this box. Note: This option is not available to guests.

To send a message, click once anywhere in the box. A cursor will replace the [Type here to talk to others in the room] message.

Type your message.

Once you are ready to send your message, press the ENTER key.

You are now chatting on MSN Games in a game room.

 

 

 

 

 

Using chat at a game table

 

 

 

 

 

 

Both players and kibitzers (watchers) can use the chat feature at a game table.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 1

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Enter a game table as a player or kibitzer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 2

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Locate the chat box directly under the game board or game-playing area.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 3

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You can view chat dialog in the top portion of the box.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

·          To view all messages in the chat dialog box, use the scroll bar to the right of the box

 

 

 

·          To make the chat viewing area bigger, place your cursor on the border of the window and a vertical double-pointed arrow will appear. Hold down your left mouse button and drag the window down to enlarge the dialog area.

 

 

 

·          To ignore kibitzers’ chat dialog, click the Options button select the Silence options in the “Allow Observers” section.
