Reindeer Games
‘Tis the season, Coffee Breakers! The season of baking, shopping, wrapping, eating, decorating and shopping some more…whew. The holidays are almost upon us and I’m up to my elbows in stocking stuffers and twinkle lights. I wish I was up to my elbows in snow but alas, all we have is rain! But I’m crossing my mittened fingers for a white Christmas…and maybe a new pair of skis. | |

A whole new world
I am so preoccupied with the quickly approaching holidays I’ve been neglecting some of my top priorities – games being one of them! However, there are two games I’m totally focusing on – Hexic and Chess! Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Moxie, those games are totally ancient!” Well, they may have been on our site for a long while but now I can play them on a whole other site. Why would I want to do that? Only this phrase “Moxie has won another badge playing Hexic!” frequently appearing on my Facebook profile. That’s right, we’re on Facebook! If you go there right now you can check out Hexic and Chess that you love with a ton of cool extras including a set of badges that are exclusive to Facebook. You can also become a fan of MSN Games on our official profile.
One of my favorite of those extras is the leader board. I once was towards the top of the Hexic leader board but every time I check it seems like I’ve been knocked down another place. And holy cow, does my high score look paltry next to the 351,000 points David in Canada has gotten! You don’t want to mess with co-workers when it comes to Hexic and you really don’t want to mess with Facebookers with game!
There are some devout badge collectors here at MSN Games and now there is a whole new way to collect badges. Not only do your friends get updated with every badge you win but oh man, are those badges cool! Some are based on scores but the others are based on how many games you play, increasing your Chess rank or (my favorite) beating a certain number of friends on your leader board. So, in order to get some of these badges, you have to have a lot of friends that are playing Hexic and Chess too. So invite your friends, and let the (healthy) competition begin!
Now, I’m very very far from being a chess grand master so I’ve been slightly less competitive when it comes to Facebook Chess. Some of my friends are stellar players so I’ve let them take me to the cleaners a few times just so I can work on my skills and try out the new features. Unfortunately, due to my lack of skill my Chess badge album is very lacking but maybe I’ll get that “Chess for Dummies” that’s on my list for Santa so I can at least get one win under my belt!
Oh here’s a sneak peak at my Hexic badge album. As you can see, there are still a few badges escaping my grasp.
We’re also going to be on MySpace in the coming days so keep your eye on this page for the official link. If you have a ton of buddies on MySpace, challenge them to a friendly game! Okay, I’m off to bake some cookies for our holiday party on Friday… and maybe try for that Ultra-Competitive badge in Hexic! Watch out Facebook buddies!

So now that we’re on Facebook, we want you to have the best experience possible when playing those games. Most issues you encounter can be resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling the application. Also, if you are using Adobe Flash Player 10.0, you will want to make sure they have the latest version installed.
