  Moxie’s Coffee Break

One Thankful Gamer

This week's column is going to be more of an abbreviated Moxie than the usual deluxe rambling Moxie for a couple of reasons. One, I'm afflicted with the awful cold that seems to be spreading throughout the land of MSN Games. And two, I'm already on holiday/vacation mode. Nothing distracts me from my cold (and my duties) more than the excitement of an upcoming vacation and holiday festivities.

I'm pretty psyched for that holiday of gluttony - better known as Thanksgiving in the United States. Although the food is always good, the company is always better. I have such a big family I rarely get to see them all as often I would like. So Thanksgiving is great because we all get together for a loud, chaotic but satisfying dinner. Usually during this dinner, we all go around and say what we're thankful for this year. I always have a long list in my head but I usually just end up saying something basic like "I'm thankful for my friends, family and my health" so I don't bore everyone with my extensive list. But now I have an open forum to declare my unabridged "what I'm thankful for" list so I'm going to use it! Here goes…

·   My great big wacky family (See, Mom? You're at the top of the list!)

·   The funny and creative folk I work with

·   When my boss goes on mid-afternoon coffee runs and takes orders

·   When the sun comes out after endless cloudy days

·   The pictures my nieces and nephews make me

·   Pizza and movie nights with my friends

·   Spending rainy days in cozy coffee shops with free WiFi connection

·   Movies and books that suck you in

And on the gaming end of things…

·   Hexic – This puzzle game has me addicted once again. Nothing beats scoring a black pearl!

·   TextTwist – I know I have mentioned TextTwist so many times before… but no other game entertains me more or makes me feel smarter!

·   Cake Mania – The game is fun, the graphics are cute, and the cakes look good enough to eat!

·   Messenger Name That Tune – It combines two of my favorite things – music and games! How can I not be thankful for that?

·   Texas Hold 'Em – Texas Hold 'Em lets me hang out with fellow MSN Gamers and work on my poker skills.

·   And when new games get launched on our site so I have even more games to play! (Be on the lookout for a slew of holiday-themed games!)

I could probably go on and on… but I definitely want to thank you – my fellow MSN Gamers and loyal readers. You're a great bunch and I love that you share my love of gaming.

Tech Time

You know what else I'm thankful for? When things get fixed on our site! It makes me and many members of our community very happy! There was a bit of a problem with players resigning in Backgammon and then not being replaced with a computer player - but the issue has been resolved! Now, if your opponent resigns from the game, they will be replaced by a computer player and you can finish the game and report your win.

See you next time!
